My Struggle with the Effects of Mercury Poisoning,

& My Search for a Therapy That Worked

(as well as some frivolous fare) -

Articles by Clover Kreger

The Aim is to be Unfettered (written Feb 2006)

- This is the full story of my search for a therapy that worked, written after recovering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). ‘The Aim is to be Unfettered’ was written to specifications for a woman intent on publishing ‘success stories’ of people who have recovered from M.E./CFS.

While originally requesting up to 17 pages, that is, ‘the longer the better,’ and specific content, she later baulked at its length, found the human element part tedious and cut it down to half its length – with loss of coherency, style and humour, in my opinion. Quite frankly, I’d have written it differently in the first place if not for the guidelines. She has, several years on, still not found a publisher, and I’m not sure if this was to be included anyway. . . but the orphan, like my kitten, has a home at last.

Mercury: the Malevolent Messenger (written Jan 2004)

-This is an earlier article about my ongoing search for a therapy that worked, written after beginning my course of FCT treatment, but prior to recovering from CFS, and prior to learning to practise FCT. I wrote this article after discovering the root cause of CFS to be typically heavy metal toxicity (especially mercury of dental origin) in the adrenal glands (and other tissues).

I wrote ‘Mercury: the Malevolent Messenger’ both in an attempt to come to terms with a seven-month experience that involved a lot of expensive zig-zagging through a seemingly interminable labyrinth of dead-ends and in hopes that I might save others similar grief.

In Feb 2004 I hand-posted it to 100+ M.E./C.F.S. organizations around the world in an effort to reach fellow CFS sufferers. As only one or two of these organisations were interested in publishing it (most notably, the Wisconsin CFS Association), or even responded to it, my webmaster Simon Rees has kindly created this website to host this lost soul and other essays.

Later updates since writing the above articles:

P.S. (Dec 2007): As a new development, I recently discovered that I have Lyme’s disease, which must date back either to the very beginning of my illness in Brittany, or to my stay in Pennsylvania. I'm working on treatment options for this at present.

Other Articles and Letters by Clover Kreger

Letter to Dick Roche, Department of the Environment, Ireland (written Mar 2007)

- Letter sent to complain about the extensive use in many public places in Ireland of herbicides which are toxic and which in my personal experience cause distressing neuropathy (loss of sensation), which interferes with one's capacity to function as well as one's pleasure. I sent this letter to Dick Roche with two excellent books on environmental toxicity enclosed: "Living Downstream: An Ecologist Looks at Cancer and the Environment (Sandra Steingraber)" and "Silent Spring (Rachel Carson)."

The Canadian Geese Invasion (written Feb 2003)

- A humourous piece. . .

Explaining Field Control Therapy (written Oct 2005)

- Prepared to introduce and explain Field Control Therapy to my patients.
